My story with the Mukhi Sisters began long before their own brand came to life—back in the days of their mother’s store, when it was pure magic to me, and it still is!
As a child, my dad would take me to Effy’s to pick out gifts for my mom. Effy always made sure I left with something too—a pear-shaped earring, a beaded bracelet, a little treasure I’d cradle all the way home. Her shop sparkled more than any candy store, and I was completely enchanted.

Years later, I became the one sent to pick up those gifts. By then, Effy wasn’t just “Tante Effat”—she became “the Efffo,” a name as special as she is. She would always tell me about her daughters and insist I meet them. Somehow, that meeting never happened—until much later.
One day, I made it a point to visit their Downtown Beirut store, now proudly carrying the Mukhi Sisters name. That’s where fate stepped in—I bumped into one of my all-time favorite friends, Meena. That friendship quickly grew into a family, and soon, my sisters and the Mukhi Sisters became one big, beautiful, loud, supportive group of sisters. We hang out, we talk daily, and we hold each other up through everything.
When their father, Chandro, went through his medical journey, my MD sister played her own part—somehow convincing him of things he would never accept from his own daughters.

I do buy jewelry from Mukhi Sisters and Effy's Jewellery, but they aren’t just pieces of jewelry—they’re memories I take with me. Today, Maya helps me build a collection for my own daughters. We sit together, thinking carefully about every birthday gift so that one day, those pieces will bring them back to that exact moment—and maybe even to the stories they’ll tell their own daughters.

Mukhi Sisters isn’t a store. It’s home.
