The History
Mukhi Sisters, established in February 2009, is the culmination of a rich family legacy and the shared passion of three sisters: Maya, Meena, and Zeenat Mukhi. Their father, Chandru Mukhi, descends from a long line of Indian jewelers dating back to 1875. Their mother, Effat Kreidie, has been the visionary behind Effys Jewellery since 1982.
In the 1970s, the sisters' grandfather, Pessumal Mukhi, relocated to the Middle East with his family. They established successful jewellery boutiques in Beirut, Damascus, and other Levant countries, alongside their renowned shops in India, including Bombay, Ashoka, and Rupkala. In 1979, their parents met and married.
Growing up surrounded by the world of jewellery, the sisters witnessed the intricacies of jewellery making, mesmerized by the artisans at work; they attended private shows, and trade exhibitions, and grew up listening to lively discussions about the art and science of jewellery. Immersed in their family heritage, it was only natural for them to pursue their path in this captivating industry. Upon completing their studies at university, they launched their independent brand, Mukhi Sisters, marking the beginning of their own unique story.
