Leila Hassan

Leila Hassan

My story with Mukhi Sisters actually began long before Mukhi Sisters existed. Our parents were already connected through jewelry — my mother used to buy pieces from their parents’ brand, Effy’s, and one of the pieces she gave me was a beautiful tennis bracelet that I still treasure today.

Then came Maya, Meena and Zeenat — my childhood friends — and somehow the story simply continued into our generation.

Over the years, they have understood my taste almost too well. My colors, my moods, what I love… sometimes before I even know it myself. Whenever they create a unique piece that they think is “very Leila,” they show it to me. I fall in love. I try to resist. And somehow… I inevitably end up buying it. 😂 I’m beginning to suspect this has been their business strategy all along!

They have also given new life to pieces that already carried memories, including a beautiful purple gemstone necklace, transforming them without taking away their soul.

So when I look at my Mukhi Sisters collection today, I don't just see jewelry. I see my mother, their parents, our childhood, our friendship and now our own story as women.

Two generations, two families, a lifetime of friendship… and apparently absolutely no ability on my part to say no to Maya, Meena and Zeenat. ❤️
